Winter vacation in Funes/Isarco Valley – Skiing in the Dolomites
A snowy winter wonderland welcomes you during the cold season in the Funes Valley. Several ski resorts are at your doorstep during your winter holidays at the farm Prackfiedererhof. In the borough of S. Maddalena, there is a small family ski area with an easy beginners’ slope. At the local ski school, the youngest guests may learn how to ski in a safe and fun way. About 20 minutes by car from the farm Prackfiedererhof, there is the ski resort Bressanone-Plose with the longest downhill slope in South Tyrol. The World Cup ski resort Val Gardena – S. Cristina is only 24 kilometres away. There you’ll find the entry to the legendary Sella Ronda. The tour combines downhill skiing fun and ski touring and takes you in one day once completely around the Sella Massif.
Winter fun off the slopes
Away from the ski slopes, cross-country trails, toboggan runs and ice skating rinks guarantee plenty of variety in Funes/Isarco Valley in the winter. Groomed cross-country trails are waiting for you on the Zanser Alm. An alpine trail with snow guarantee is offered by the track “Passo delle Erbe”, which runs at an altitude of around 2,000 meters above sea level. Gorgeous natural toboggan runs await you on the Zanser Alm and in the ski resort Bressanone-Plose. The latter offers the longest toboggan run in South Tyrol, which on more than 10 kilometres leads from the mountain station of the cable car to the valley. Furthermore, you can make beautiful snow shoe hikes and ski tours around the Funes pastures. An ice rink is located in S. Pietro.
